The $50,000 Esplanade Stakes represents the featured event March 18 at Fair Grounds as a field of eight fillies and mares will contest the mile and 70 yard event on the main track. 
On Saturday at Santa Anita, the Eclipse Award winner Songbird remained undefeated with a smashing victory as the heavy favorite in the $100,000 San Ysabel Stakes (G3). 
Nine fillies are set to contest the Grade 2, $200,000 Rachel Alexandra Stakes February 20 at Fair Grounds in a race with definite implications for the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks in May. 
On Saturday at Santa Anita, the featured race is the $200,000 Buena Vista Stakes. Carded at one mile on the turf, the Grade 2 race has drawn a field of twelve fillies and mares with two others entered as also-eligible. 
On Saturday at Laurel Park, the featured race is the $300,000 Barbara Fritchie Handicap. A Grade 2 event for fillies and mares, the seven-furlong contest has drawn a field of seven. 
On Sunday at Santa Anita, the featured race is the $75,000 Wishing Well Stakes. Restricted to fillies and mares, the race will be contested at about six and a half furlongs on the downhill turf course and has drawn a full field of twelve with one additional entered as also-eligible. 
The $100,000 Kitten’s Joy Stakes features a field of seven three year-olds set to contest the one-mile event on turf Saturday, January 30 at Gulfstream. 
On Saturday at Gulfstream Park, the stakes action will continue with the $150,000 Sunshine Millions Turf Sprint. Restricted to horses bred in Florida, the race will be held at five furlongs on the turf and has drawn a field of eleven with one additional entered for the main track only. 
Despite a compact field of six, the Grade 3, $150,000 Hal’s Hope still figures to hold plenty of intrigue for racing fans January 9 at Gulfstream Park.
