On Saturday at Laurel Park, the featured race is the $300,000 Barbara Fritchie Handicap. A Grade 2 event for fillies and mares, the seven-furlong contest has drawn a field of seven.

Hot City Girl has been installed as the morning line favorite at odds of 9-5 for trainer Linda Rice. A four-year-old daughter of City Zip, she has been on the board in eight of her twelve starts and is a five-time winner. She earned her first graded stakes victory last year in the Charles Town Oaks (G3) which kicked off a three-race win streak. She was second in the La Brea Stakes (G1) in her last start in December. Jose Ortiz will be aboard and they will break from post position three.

Lady Sabelia looking for a repeat performance

Second choice at morning line odds of 2-1 is Lady Sabelia, the winner of the 2015 running of the Barbara Fritchie Handicap (G2). Trained by Robert Graham, the six-year-old daughter of Majestic Warrior is a homebred for Mrs. Frank P. Wright and has won ten of her eighteen starts. She is coming into this race off of two consecutive stakes victories and will break from post position five under jockey Horacio Karamanos.

Clothes Fall Off stepping up in class

Also in the field at morning line odds of 8-1 is Clothes Fall Off for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. A four-year-old daughter of Daaher, the bay filly has been on the board in eight of her nine starts and will be trying to earn her fourth career victory and first stakes win. She was last seen winning an optional claiming race at Aqueduct. Jevian Toledo will be aboard and they will break from post position two.
