On Saturday at Aqueduct, the $400,000 Remsen Stakes will showcase some of the most promising juveniles on the East Coast. The Grade 2 race will be run at a mile and an eighth and has drawn a full field of twelve entrants.
Frosted has been installed as the morning line favorite at 3-1 and will break from the outside post under jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. Trained by Kiaran Mclaughlin, the juvenile son of Tapit is out of the multiple graded stakes winning mare Fast Cookie. He broke his maiden last time out in his third career start as the favorite after finishing second in both prior races. He will get Lasix for the first time and has had consecutive bullet workouts since his last race.
Ostrolenka breaking out of state-bred company
Second choice at 4-1 on the morning line is Ostrolenka for trainer Todd Pletcher. A bay son of Musket Man, the New York-bred colt will be making his first start against open company after winning two of his three starts against state-bred competition. He won the Sleepy Hollow Stakes as the heavy favorite last time out after setting the pace. John Velazquez, his regular rider, will be aboard from post position twelve.
Chad Brown has a loaded entry
Chad Brown will saddle the entry of Leave the Light On and Market Conduct, both owned in partnership by Klaravich Stables and Lawrence William. Leave the Light On, a chestnut son of Horse Greeley purchased for $210,00, will have Jose Ortiz aboard after breaking his maiden last time out. Market Conduct, a New York-bred son of Super Saver, has been third against state-bred stakes company in both starts since winning his debut and will have Joel Rosario up.
